Things to Do
- Pine Creek offers some of the best freestone trout fishing in the
East. It is well stocked with thousands of brown, brook and rainbow trout while maintaining
a supply of holdover trout.
- The "Trophy Only" stream of Cedar Run flows into Pine
Creek at Cedar Run. Down stream a few miles, the famous Slate
Run enters Pine Creek at the village of Slate Run.
- Pine Creek offers a great ride through the Grand Canyon by canoe,
kayak or raft.
- Swimming and tubing are also popular pastimes.
- For a scenic bicycle ride, the 54 mile Pine
Creek Rail-Trail (at the
present time) begins North at Ansonia and ends in Jersey Shore. It runs
through the Pennsylvania
Grand Canyon. The Chalet is centrally located on the Rail-Trail.
- Along with the Pine Creek Rail-Trail, there are miles of marked
hiking trails in the area.
- There is an abundance of wildlife - bear and deer hunting are
popular sports.
- In June, the Mountain Laurel is in bloom laying a sea of white and
pink across the forest. October offers a spectacular coloring of
Fall foliage.
